Experience. Bill Venable has been practicing in Raleigh for over 14 years.
As co-founder and clinical director of LifeCare Counseling and Coaching, he desires LifeCare to be a Christian counseling center where the hearts of clients are transformed at the deepest levels and the training of future counselors is a priority.
Marriage. With a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Bill brings a systemic approach that explores insights of the family we came from and combines it with practical interventions that have proven to be effective in bringing skill buliding and healing to struggling and broken marriages.
Sexual Addiction. Many men, even in the church, are held captive by pornography, affairs and other forms of sexual addiction. With advanced training in this area, he enjoys meeting with men and their wives and helping them along the road to freedom.
Trauma and Brokenness. Bill has a passion to bring healing to those who are fractured and deeply broken in their souls. For those who like to like to integrate prayer into the therapy room, he likes to use the HeartSync method developed by Andy Miller, LCSW.
Other treatment areas include depression, anxiety, sexual dysfunction, post traumatic stress disorder and dissociative issues, personality and family-of-origin issues, self-image issues, premarital counseling, conflict resolution and communication.
Education. He earned a BA in Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1986 and a Masters of Divinity and Marriage and Family Therapy from Reformed Theological Seminary. He has provided inpatient individual and group counseling, social work, and outpatient therapy with individuals, couples, and families.
Networks. Bill is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and is a Board Certified Christian Counselor on the AACC's Christian Care Network. He is also on the referal networks for Focus on the Family and New Life Ministries.
